I’m not sure that winter is over but the brief spring weather is greatly appreciated. After all the snow nature has left us with many downed trees and lots of debris. Power outages, phone lines disconnected, not to mention all the clean up expenses many did not anticipate. Local tree surgeons are so busy they are unable to commit to a date, the response to demands is enormous.
One tree surgeon we find available is local “Brian Gundert”. You can reach him at 209 795-7332 after 7:00 p.m. or on weekends. Dependable, and reasonable. He comes highly recommended.
Our “common area” work days will be on Saturday, May 5th after the board meeting (weather permitting). Please sign up/volunteer and meet us at the pool about noon. We will have the following work days on May19th and 20th to finish cleaning and painting. We need to paint the pool house, kitchen, and fence. Also the playground needs updating.
Please call Alice @ 209 728-3202 or email me at (leroyt@goldrush.com). You may also phone Cora Bell at 209 795-4993 to let us know that you can participate. It’s your common area, so lets get out and participate in the spring cleanup. Thanks for your help!
Gaylord Blackburn will be maintaining our pool this summer, and Jason Stills will be supervising the pool. We hope to be open on June 2nd weather permitting.
Our June 2nd board meeting will have Nancy Longmore of California Department of Forestry (CDF) as our speaker. Nancy is the Information Officer and is a fire prevention specialist.
We hope all Lilac Park residents will attend this meeting at 1:00 p.m. at the pool. Any questions you may have regarding the 100’ clearance can be answered at this meeting. A summary of the regulations are on the back of this Newsletter.
Note: Homeowners whose dues are in arrears need to make arrangements with Cora Bell to set up a payment plan.
Assets and Liabilities Report: There are no pending litigations and the assessments are adequate. No increase is being contemplated.
Please be fire safe. Call the Air Pollution Control Board for burn day information at 209 754-6600 Web Site: www.lilacparkhomeownersassociation.org
Hoping to see all of our local members on clean up day.
Alice J. Taylor/President
The last snow fall that occurred in Arnold Lilac Park caused many of the smaller and medium size cedar trees to either break or fall. A number of homes had roof damage, some from dead trees, but mostly from live trees. Please try to cut down smaller trees on your property. The Forest Service recommends 10 foot clearance between trees if possible. This is probably as important if not more important that raking pine needles and removing brush. Please check your property for damage.
