President's Corner:

The Board of Directors appreciates your patience during our transition from one Administrative Assistant to another. We did not realize how much we depend on their services. The Board learned a lot and had to pitch-in and actually produce. This is what we are paid for; just kidding, our main "Mover & Shaker" was Jeff Lindevald (our Board Treasurer). He spent hours and hours to coordinate the budget, the treasury of the association, collect dues, taxes and the rest. Our new Administrative Assistant, Sera James has managed to help pick up the pieces and put it all together. So we ask the Homeowners to continue your patience with the dues and questions. If you have any problems with your account, please contact Sera at 209-795-3807.

The pool got off to a good start with days of 40-60 Homeowners using the pool. More and more Homeowners are using the facilities for picnics, parties, etc. The pool looks the best it has ever been regarding the chemical balance, filtering, clarity, quality, cleanliness etc. Our appreciation goes to Gaylord Blackburn our Standby Director. He spends almost 7 days a week 3-4 hours per day. If you see him working tell him you appreciate his many efforts to make the pool and surrounding area the very best. Let's not forget Mike Willemsen, Director handles personnel responsibilities and also spends hours working on the pool, including cleaning and painting. Another homeowner, Pete Molesworth has put in hours of work painting, pool cleaning, and many other duties. Please make sure you say how much you appreciate their efforts. That's their only salary.

Time is flying by, mark your calendar for our Annual Cooperation Dinner, September 5th 2004 at the pool. Meeting at 3:30 p.m., potluck dinner 5:30 p.m.

Common Interest Developments Assembly Bill 2598 (Steinberg) Senate Bill 1682 (Ducheny, Steinberg, etal).

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM:
Homeowners can lose their homes through non-judicial foreclosure when they fail to pay their dues debt.

BACKGROUND:
Purchases of homes in common interest developments agreed upon purchase to pay dues (assessments) to their community association for its upkeep, operations and members service programs. These are debts of the owner which, if not timely paid will cause community degradation and result in dues paying members paying more to cover those who don't pay. Collection of these debts is imperative to the health of the community.

We the Board of Directors have not been notified of the voting results.

The VIP program (Volunteers in Prevention) is ongoing, we have inspected over 50 lots. Most have done an outstanding job to free their lots of combustible materials. To report a fire - call 911. If you have other fire safety questions - call 795-1646.

To All Animal Lovers - Lilac Park has had numerous visitations of black bears. I have taken photos of the bear's footprint on my deck. If you have problems on the safety aspect of the bear, please call local authorities. Dogs on a chain could be a safety problem during periods of darkness.
