The meeting was called to order by President Alice Taylor at 3:30 p.m. Board members in attendance were Alice Taylor, Gene Bartee, Frank Samuelson, Deirdre Willemsen, Mike Willemsen, and Pat Tarpley. Homeowners in attendance: Laura Knight, the Hilts family, Mark and Karen Nelson, William and Gail Meany, Teri and Andre Adam, Tom and Bobbie Bishop, Linda Blythe, Ruth Mait, Roger and Bonnie Daniel, Le Roy Taylor, Ann and Jim Johnson, Phyllis Bevgen, Bob Bonsmer, and Dan and Barbara Ouelet.
Alice request a reading of the minutes from the prior annual meeting. Frank moved and Mike seconded that the minutes from the prior year be approved.
Gene Bartee requested two changes in the proposed budget. We will not have any pool asset expenses in 2006 so $2,000 was removed from the budget. We will not have any accounting or tax expenses for 2006 because Cora Bell is now doing the administrative assistant job and will complete the tax return as a part of her position. $250 was removed from the proposed budget. Theresa Hill moved and Bonnie seconded the approval of the budget.
There were questions from the floor about the difference in yard clean up between 2005 and 2006. Pat Tarpley completed the yard clean up in 2005 at no cost to the association.
There was a question about the 100 foot clearance requirement from CDF. The Hilt’s received a citation and could not get a response from CDF when they phoned. They spent some time cleaning their lot and could not understand what they were being cited for. We will send a copy of the clearance requirements in our next newsletter.
Susan gave an update on the pool. The pool had one of it highest usage years this summer. Many new homeowners and families used the pool this summer. Susan said that Jason did an excellent job working for us this year. She pointed out that we need to do something to repair the yard next to the pool, and that the pool structure is badly in need of paint.
Cora requested that we change the monthly meeting dates to the 1st Saturday of the month beginning in October. It was agreed that the date would be changed.
There was a question about the side of the pool where paint and fiber glass has been picked off. Mike Willemsen stated that we still have repair materials and paint. He also said that Mike Parker who repaired our pool is willing to come over and help us with the questionable areas. Mike said the pool wintered over nicely last year. He believes that if we have to spend a small amount of additional money to gets Mike Parkers help with any needed repairs that it is money well spent.
Tom and Bobbi Bishop say that the stop sign on the corner of Lilac and Maple is not being obeyed. They are concerned that the many children who ride motorized scooters are at risk for injury. It was suggested that we need to have white lines, and “Stop Ahead” painted on the street in this area. Alice will visit the county to try to get them to paint this information on the road. Frank Samuelson says that Lilac and Alder has a similar problem.
We will put in motion lights in the pool area.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30.
Respectfully Submitted
